New Year, New Features

January 2nd, 2011 by jfaustin

Happy new year from Destination Analytics!  And what better way to celebrate the beginning of a new year than a whole host of new features?  Here is what you can find in the latest release:

Define Your Own Destinations
Now you can setup your own custom destinations to include whatever postal codes you want, giving you more flexibility to compare your properties however you want.

New Year-To-Year Report
Compare your performance for Average Daily Rate, Occupancy Percentage, and Revenue per available Unit on a yearly basis.  By showing performance on the same graph for multiple years at a time, you can get a better picture of how this year’s performance stacked up against the past.

New Unit and Visitor Rental Data Bulk Uploader
Most of our customers are using the bulk uploader to import Excel files to Destination Analytics.  The newest version of this uploader is smarter, more powerful, and more intuitive.

Multiple Users For Your Company
You can now grant access to other people in your company to access your Destination Analytics subscription.  We have multiple access levels, allowing access to only view reports, upload data,  and even to administrate your company’s subscription.

These are just a few of the hundreds of features that are in this release.  We hope you enjoy it, and as always let us know if we can help.  Happy New Year!

New Features!

November 3rd, 2010 by jfaustin

We’ve just released a HUGE update to the Destination Analytics platform that we are really excited about!  We’ve added over 200 features and bug fixes.  Here are the highlights:

7 Day Full Access Free Trial

We’ve updated the platform to allow anyone with an email address to experience Destination Analytics first hand.  Now when you create an account, we will automatically generate some demo properties and 2 years worth of data for you.  What that means is that you can see how the entire platform functions, including the reports, before signing up for a plan.  There is no credit card required, so you’ve got nothing to lose! Click here to try it out.

New Improved Interface

One thing that sets us apart from other companies that provide analytics is our focus on usable and easy-to-understand interfaces.  We believe that complicated, confusing reports hinder your ability to understand how your properties are doing.  Keeping with that philosophy, we’ve polished our interface even further to improve your experience.  We think you’ll like the new changes.

Tools for Destination Marketing Organizations

We’ve made the first step toward allowing Destination Marketing Organizations a view into our destination data.  If you are a Destination Marketing Organization, contact us at sales@destinationanalytics.net.  We’d love to talk to you!  Right now, DMO’s can sign up for our service and receive access to reports similar to property managers.  That’s just one of many new features that are currently in the works, so stay tuned for more!

Internationalization for Origin Zip Codes

We now support origin zip codes that lie outside of the United States, so you can see analytics from all of your international visitors as well.  All you need to do is provide a country along with your rental data entries.  It’s a great way to keep tabs on all your guests from around the world as well as the ones visiting from the US.

Much, Much More

The list of features keeps going and going, some visible to you and some that help the system run faster and more efficiently.  And the best part is that we’ve already begun work on the next phase!  Subscribe to our blog or our twitter account (@destanalytics) to make sure you’re the first to know about new features and updates.

We will always keep working hard to make your experience with our product better.  If you have suggestions or questions, please let us know by emailing us at support@destinationanalytics.net.

Tracking Your 2010 Season

September 4th, 2010 by Garrison

The immediate threat from the BP oil spill has diminished, but how did it affect the summer season for the Gulf Coast vacation rental market, and how will it affect the long term market? Early in July, Kenneth Feinberg, the BP oil spill pay czar appointed by President Obama, announced that vacation rental losses would be compensated. Feinberg set guidelines for property owners and vacation rental property managers in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida panhandle for filing claims. Feinberg urged that claims should be filed but said, “It should be corroborated. I don’t know what corroboration. We’ll see, but absolutely those claims will be considered.” (Source)

Vacation rental revenue tracking is critical to corroborating losses along the Gulf Coast for the 2010 season and beyond. Our system is uniquely designed to tracking for vacation rental revenue for property managers and analyzing historical trends.  While Feinberg may not know what corroboration, we are able to track, compare, and report on all of your property inventory.

Let us help you and your property owners assess the 2010 season and beyond.   Sign up and get immediate access to analysis of your rental data.  Feel free to contact us for additional information.

Live from the NCVRMA Conference

April 21st, 2010 by jfaustin

Live from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Destination Analytics is ready to make its mark on the NCVRMA conference.

We arrived just in time to do a little networking with the property managers and to check out some of the vendors who are showcasing their products.  Garrison and I are new to this industry, so meeting new folks and getting to know their needs is high on our priority list.  Gene and Larry are fairly well known around these parts, so they get to catch up with some old friends.

After the network event, we were all famished so we went to grab a bite of some authentic Calabash seafood.  It was mighty tasty.

Tomorrow is the big day…our first chance to showcase our product to property managers.  So far the response has been great. Although no one (except us and a few lucky testers) has seen the application yet, there is a lot of buzz surrounding it.  People seem genuinely excited about having access to destination data that is relevant and timely.

Must get some rest before our big presentation tomorrow.  It’s gonna be a GREAT day!

Announcing Destination Analytics!

January 30th, 2010 by Gene

Today we’re happy to announce the launch of Destination Analytics – a brand new way for vacation rental property managers to make smarter and faster business decisions.

We have worked with the tourism industry in North Carolina for over 30 years and saw a desperate need for better access to vacation rental performance metrics. People aren’t easily able to find out how they’re performing when compared to the rest of the rental market. It was clear to us that destination vacation rental managers are in need of better metrics. So we set out to solve that problem.

We have worked with destinations where vacation rentals make up a huge part of the available accommodations. The contribution that these accommodations make to a destination’s overall tourism performance has fallen through the research cracks. We are poised to change this for vacation destinations throughout the country by providing our innovative reporting platform.

In a few weeks we will begin opening up the Destination Analytics service. We are starting with the members of the North Carolina Vacation Rental Managers Association and the property managers of Panama City Beach. Soon after, sign up will be open to everyone.

Our innovative tracking system provides destination property managers and tourism related businesses with access to performance metrics and detailed analytics. By using weekly rental data and visitor statistics, we provide you robust reporting of your destination’s rental profile.

Our mission is simple. If you’re in the tourism industry, we want to change how you do business.
